Sir Coxsone Sound System ft Clint Eastwood, Sammy Dread, Bikey Dread, General Dan, Duffus Irie, Levi Roots, 1981

Sir Coxsone (AKA Lloyd Coxsone, real name Lloyd Blackford came to the UK in 1961 from Morant Bay, St Thomas, Jamaica, had started out with his own Lloyd The Matador this folded because of lack of funds and he went on to work with the Duke Reid Sound. Upon splitting from Duke Reid in 1969 it was a natural choice to name his sound Sir Coxsone, in recognition of the Jamaican rivalry between Studio One and Treasure Isle.

Arrows Sound System ft Frankie Paul, Dirtsman, Cutty Ranks, Shaka Shamba, Michigan, Blink Eye 1987

Arrows Hi-fi International sound system originates Kingston in the mid 1960s.
The sound system was aka Bilbo and Robert aka RO. The original entertain and Puddy Lion now better known as Puddy Roots o Ricky Zaggaluu and Papa Screw.

In the Early 80s the Arrows crew got more interesti the addition of new entertainers like Shaka Shamba, the lo Brown, Captain Sinbad, Papa Splint, Boney, Clarence Parks en Chest, Cutty Ranks, Beenie (Beenie man) Arrows.

WAH DAT Disco, spearheaded by Barry Gordon, was very popular in the dance hall arena from 1983 up to Papa Chris bure and Django were the asso Pada O Lord and Daddy With Barry G being one of th vs special guests' artistes,with WAH DAT sound, it was my would generally rule the when Barry G entered the WAH DAT Disco to the latter years of the decade. The sound system had Lid winning top disc-jockey Barry G as the selectors.

Black Star International was considered one of the best “roots and culture" sound system in Jamaica. With one of the world's most cultural deejay Brigadier Jerry at the head of its entertainment crew, Black Star was known as the Jerry's University.
